I was extremely disappointed by this film. There are only a few things that I can say that I liked about this film. The social commentary was decent. There is some funny racial commentary, but there are many times when it gets overwhelmingly racist. There is some funny religious commentary, but there are many times when it gets overwhelmingly offensive. There are some funny food-related puns. That's about all that I liked about the film.
I thought that this movie was extremely overly sexual, much more so than the rest of Rogen's films. It felt like they were pushing the boundaries for the sole purpose of pushing the boundaries, not to be genuinely funny. At first, the juxtaposition of the crude humor and the usually child-friendly style of animation is funny, but the novelty wears off quickly. It also seems like the actors didn't really enjoy working on this film, which is a shame, as the actors' passion is part of what makes Rogen's films stand out. The ending was also way too over-the-top, and I thought of a funnier way that they could have ended the movie that also could have led to a sequel.
So overall, I was extremely disappointed with "Sausage Party". There was almost nothing that I liked about the film. I really can't even recommend it to fans of Seth Rogen, as I would consider myself a fan, and I hated it. At least I saw it free through Atom Tickets, or else I would have been mad that I wasted my money.
