I saw this movie a few years ago and couldn't stop laughing. I really loved it. As such, when I heard that TCM's Big Screen Classics would be featuring it in theaters, I knew that I wanted to see it on the big screen.
In my opinion, this film is definitely the epitome of 80's teen movies. So many elements of this film have been copied in modern pop culture. From the element of breaking the fourth wall, to the contraption to trick parents that he was in bed, to the post-credits scene, so many elements of the film are paid homage to in modern cinema. The film also has some surprisingly beautiful cinematography too.
The comedy of the film is hilarious. Broderick has such a charm to him that it would be hard to imagine the character of Ferris Bueller without him. So many scenes in the film had me laughing out loud, even though I had seen the movie before and knew the joke already. My favorite scene in the film has to be when Ed Rooney is prank called by Ferris and Cameron.
Seeing the post-credits scene in theaters was one of my favorite parts of the experience. I have always thought that it was funny, however being in the theater watching it made it even funnier.
So I love both the movie, "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and I loved the experience of getting to see it in theaters. If you ever get the chance to watch it in theaters, I highly recommend it, however I highly recommend that you watch it anyway if you can't.

I look at films as if through old red and blue 3D glasses— one lens is as art, one lens is as entertainment.
