Film #26 of the Halloween 31
I have heard this film mentioned on some other movie blogs recently, and I saw that it was going to be released via Prime. It had an interesting premise, so I decided to give it a watch. I wish I hadn't.
This film was very obviously the work of a first0time filmmaker. The cinematography was amateurish. The acting was not passionate at all, and the actors are obviously way older than the characters. The effects were bad, and not in a funny way. It was obviously aiming to parody the 50's creature features, but failed miserably, because it added modern elements that didn't make any sense. There were tons of plot holes, too. It is not a well-written film. To add to that, it's not even that funny. There were three or four moments that made me laugh, but most of the time, I was checking the time remaining wondering how much longer I would have to sit through it.
So overall, I was really disappointed by "I Was a Teenage Wereskunk". If a more seasoned filmmaker would have made this film, it could have been better. It may just be that I didn't get it. Some people may absolutely love it, but to me, this film stank.
