Yes, Ride Along 2 has an extremely flawed, extremely clichéd buddy cop movie script.... but it works. The chemistry between Hart and Ice Cube is undeniable, and like the first movie, I often found myself laughing so hard that I was almost falling out of my seat.
There is the forced romance between Ice Cube and his love interest, which did bug me a bit, and Ken Jeong's character just seemed put in there to make jokes about "Asian nerd" stereotypes.
You might think that you have seen this movie a hundred times before, and you probably have, because it follows almost every step in the book. But I cannot stress enough how much Hart and Ice Cube make this movie what it is.
To me, this is one of those rare sequels that matches or exceeds the original. If you are a fan of Hart's other movies, this is definitely one of his funnier ones, in my opinion.

I look at films as if through old red and blue 3D glasses— one lens is as art, one lens is as entertainment.
