I didn't think that The Green Inferno was as bad as some people have said it was, but it also wasn't as good as I had hoped being a fan of Eli Roth. There were a lot of things that were bad. The shaky cam is probably one of the most annoying features of the movie. Also annoying was the completely illogical characters, but that is often a staple of horror films. The film did, however, deliver Roth's blend of gore and dark humor, which is probably the reason for which most people want to watch this movie. I can also say that this movie is not quite as xenophobic as I had expected it to be, although it is still too much.
I have a strong tolerance for gore, so I was almost completely unaffected by the gore of the film, and along with Roth's dark humor, I didn't really find this movie to be scary at all. This might be different for someone with a weaker stomach.
So, I wouldn't recommend spending a lot of money on this film unless if you are a hardcore fan of the genre and Eli Roth. It is an okay way to spend about an hour and a half if you're doing nothing and you catch it on Redbox or on TV.

I look at films as if through old red and blue 3D glasses— one lens is as art, one lens is as entertainment.
